If Freddy Shepherd gets his own way, Alan Shearer will be Newcastle's
next manager after Graeme Souness with the Chairman believing it's
what "most supporters want".
Shepherd, speaking to the Chronicle (May 12th 2005) said: "Graeme
Souness has already said that he wants Alan Shearer to take over as
manager when he leaves. "It's what the most of our supporters want
- and as I am also a supporter it's what I want."
