NUFC News From Mar 13th 2005

Important: FA Cup Semi-Final Ticket News

From the official NUFC website:

The draw for the Semi Finals of the FA Cup will be made tomorrow (Monday 14th March) at 1.30pm and will be televised live on BBC & Sky Sports News and broadcast live on BBC Radio 5live.

Semi Finals ties will be played at The Millennium Stadium, Cardiff on Saturday 16th April 2005 and Sunday 17th April 2005.

There is a planning meeting in Cardiff on Thursday 17th March for all Semi Finalist clubs. During this meeting ticket prices, allocations and the date of our match and kick off time should be made clear.

We therefore ask supporters to note that ticket application details may not be available until the week commencing 21st March 2005.

This process and any further details will be announced on the official club website www.nufc.co.uk and in the local media.

Note: Supporters should not make applications for tickets until such time as the sale/application arrangements have been announced.

Smogs Match Moved

Due to our involvement in the FA Cup Semi-Final, the Newcastle Vs Middlesbrough match has been moved to a later date. The game was originally scheduled for the 16th of April and means that the Boro game joins the Fulham away game on the scrap heap of to be rearranged matches.

FA Cup: We're Going To Cardiff...

NUFC 1-0 Spurs

Newcastle made it 7 wins out of 7 earlier on by beating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at St. James' Park in the FA Cup Quarter-Final to make it to the Semis and a trip to Cardiff... WOO HOO!

Patrick Kluivert's 5th minute goal, set up by Alan Shearer, was enough to win what was a tense, frantic and heart stopping game. After Paddy's goal it was basically all Spurs who had the majority of possession and can count themselves unlucky to have been dumped out... but who cares!

Two magnificent saves from Shay Given, a seemingly legitimate goal ruled out from the visitors, two dodgy hand ball appeals and quite brilliant defending all denied the team in yellow.

It was ugly, scrappy and at times, too much to bear as we hung on nervously but WE DID IT. WE ARE IN THE SEMIS OF THE FA CUP. Does it matter how we get there? Does it heck.

Every single Toon player earned their wages with an outstanding show of defiance, a will to win and a 'we shall not be breached' attitude that Souness has drummed into them - a winners attitude and that's what we did, we won, our 7th game off the spin. Magnificent stuff, great day, great result. Heroes the lot of em'.

Well done Graeme and the lads.
