NUFC's InterToto Cup Path Mapped Out

UEFA have confirmed today the full list of teams for the InterToto Cup 2005. We, like predicted, are the top seeds from England, being the only team entering. The English second InterToto place has gone to Spain, and more specifically Athletico Bilbao. All fourty-nine matches have been mapped out, so we'll give you the dates and games which effect us most.

Game 10, First Round:

Vasas SC (HUNGARY) v FK ZTS Dubnica (SLOVAKIA)

First leg 18/19 June, Second leg 25/26 June

The winner of this game will play BB Ankaraspor from Turkey, with the first leg on 2/3 July and the second leg on 9/10 July.

The winner of that second round tie will play Newcastle United. The dates and venues are as follows:

First leg- 16/17 July (away)
Second leg- 23rd July (St. James' Par)

If we progress in that game, we will go in to the hat along with eleven other teams for the semi final and final draw on 11 July. So we will know our possible opponents before we play our third round tie.

Other teams of interest in the competition which could pose a threat are Borussia Dortmund, Valencia, Deportivo, Marseille and Lazio.

Keep an eye out on Newcastle-Online.com for our future opponents and all the draws and news in the InterToto Cup.
