John Carver Speculation
Press speculation this morning claims United coach John Carver
has resigned from his post as Academy Director but Newcastle's official
site is refuting these claims, stating: United have
denied reports that Academy Director John Carver has resigned from
his position. Magpies chairman Freddy Shepherd, responding to a story
which appeared on Tuesday, said: "John is currently on holiday, and
the report of his supposed resignation is news to me."
Souness To Appeal FA Charge
From the FA's website:
Newcastle United manager Graeme Souness has denied a charge of
failing to act in the best interests of the game and/or bringing the
game into disrepute (breach of FA Rule E3). He has not requested a
personal hearing.
The charge related to post-match media comments following Newcastle
United's Premier League match against Everton on May 7, 2005.
Meanwhile Andy O'Brien's red card against Israel for the Republic
of Ireland on Saturday evening has not been rescinded.

see who is available, who could be available and who we could potentially
attract. In the 15th installment of our series we will look at Norwich
City.
