I'd like to think so.
As a football fan and a traditionalist (where my footie and
club is concerned anyway), I have been disgusted by the rapid
deterioration of the oldest, grandest and most sought after
Cup in the world of football. From Man Utd's disgraceful trip
to Brazil to take part in a mickey mouse 'tournament' to the
fielding of youth-teams and reserve sides, the old Cup has been
battered from pillar to goal post. It's now damaged goods, an
inconvenience to clubs and money men in their insatiable lust
for riches. Riches that the FA Cup just don't provide, apparently...

Alan Shearer on Sunday's crowd and atmosphere:
"I have never heard the crowd like that for a while.
"When the players hear it like that it gives the whole team
a lot of confidence.
If the supporters can keep that level of support going and the

It May Have Been Ugly, But It Felt Nice!
No this isn't a documentary of my latest
Saturday night (for the record I stayed in!) but never has the
term "Win Ugly" ever been so appropriate as it was today. It
wasn't pretty, but no-one of a black and white persuasion will
care too much. I was shaking my head, laughing, cringing, shouting
and god knows what else during the second half. But when the
final whistle was blown I erupted only because I was delighted
to make the last eight against the favourites for the cup.
