Player Ratings Vs Boro Now Online!
Match reaction from Sir Bobby following yesterday's 2-2 draw with
Middlesbrough at the Riverside.
Sir Bobby said:
"We're disappointed because we had the game won twice and we've thrown
it away at the end.
"I'm not so sure about their equaliser though, and Shola Ameobi is
steaming with rage in the dressing room because he is adamant their
player used his arm to score the goal.
"Shola saw it, and Olivier Bernard says he did too. Unfortunately
for us the referee didn't see it, and nor did the linesman.
"We've thrown away two points, as we did away from home on too many
occasions last season.
"Overall though I was quite satisfied with the performance and the
way we played. We were solid across the middle and Shearer and Bellamy
caused problems up front.
"Even at 2-1 we could have scored another when JJ had a great chance
that he's somehow put wide of the post, and they've gone straight
up the other end and nicked a point.
"We should have been celebrating a victory, but instead we're talking
about two dropped points."

The Rags
That bastion of news reporting, the News of the World, is claiming
today that Kieron Dyer has had a bust up with Sir Bobby over which
position he should play in.
Anyway check it out...
Kieron Dyer went on strike after a sensational bust-up with manager
Sir Bobby Robson that could end his Newcastle career.
The News of the World can exclusively reveal the pair clashed ferociously
in midweek over which position Dyer should play.
Robson wanted him on the right of midfield for last night's opening
Premiership game at Middlesbrough but Dyer insisted he would only
accept a central role.
Dyer was instantly dropped and a stunned club insider revealed: "It
was unbelievable. Robson was adamant Dyer plays on the right but Kieron
was yelling at him: 'I'm sick of being messed around.
I'm sick of being pushed all over the place while everyone else gets
to play in their best position'."
Dyer and Robson's relationship was already at breaking point after
the pair clashed in a dressing-room row during Newcastle's pre-season
game at Celtic.
Our source added: "Kieron's not prepared to put up with any more.
He desperately wants to play for Newcastle — but in the postion
where he can produce his best football. If he can't play there, he
won't play at all and that's what he's told Bobby.
"He's not prepared to see players like Nicky Butt and James Milner
come in and be treated properly while he gets messed around.
"Kieron was terribly upset. He told Robson: 'You've messed up
my England career, you're to blame'."
Newcastle may now try to cash in on the £10million-rated star,
who only came on as a second-half substitute during last night's 2-2
draw when Milner came off from central midfield.
Take it with a huge pinch of salt, given the source of the 'story',
but don't be surprised if it's true.
In other Sunday tabloid 'news', the People are reporting that Man
Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants Alan Shearer as the Red Devils face
a striker injury crisis.
And Brazil's world cup-winning coach and current Portugal boss Luis
Felipe Scolari is being lined up as Sir Bobby's successor according
to the Daily Star.
They don't half write some crap...

Dyer, Butt & JJ Get England Call-Up, But No
Shola
England manager Sven Goran Eriksson named his England squad to take
on the Ukraine at St. James' Park on Wednesday with 3 of United's
midfielders being called-up. New signing Nicky Butt, Jermaine Jenas
and Kieron Dyer. As expected there is no call-up for Shola Ameobi
despite reports suggesting he would get the nod.
Meanwhile James Milner has been called-up for the England under 21's
who take on the Ukraine at the Riverside on Tuesday. |
