As promised a selection of your e-mails, submitted following Alan Shearer's decision not to retire at the end of season 2004-05 has he had previously claimed he would. There are also one or two e-mails regarding the Bowyer/Dyer fight, Souness and the general running of the club. Newcastle-Online have kept surnames private to protect the individual and have only edited for spelling/grammar errors. Thanks to everyone who wrote in.

Time For Potential To Become Reality

What have Steven Taylor, James Milner, Michael Chopra, Peter Ramage and even Hugo Viana all got in common? They are all young, hungry players who either never had the chance or won't get the chance to succeed at our club, with the possible exception of young Taylor. Following my colleague Howaythetoon's article about Jermaine Jenas I'd just like to further explore the way in which our club policy either throws players in at the deep end and ruins them or never gives them a fair chance. What About St. James' Park?

An official statement from the club website:

Bring Your Flags To Cardiff

Newcastle United are encouraging their supporters to make the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff a flag happy zone when the Geordies turn out in force to cheer their team into the FA Cup Final on Sunday.

And in doing so they have taken the lead in producing their own giant flag, measuring 20m by 10m, which will be in amongst the Magpie supporters when the United's of Newcastle and Manchester meet each other in the second of this season's FA Cup semi final ties.

A United spokesman said:

"We already know that our fiercely passionate supporters will make more noise at the stadium over the weekend than any of the other semi finalists. In encouraging our supporters to take flags, banners, and other United paraphernalia to Cardiff, we want our half of the stadium to be a seething mass of black and white shirts and flags.

"We have produced a massive flag ourselves, and we would personally encourage every supporter, wherever possible, to do the same!"
