I think Sam is man enough to put some of the kids in the first team if the big names dont pull their weight. There were some good performances against Juve. Carroll, Troisi and Edgar in particular who pretty much ran the defence tonight against Hull !!

No harm done. I do appreciate the words.

Hopefully our teams will be able to meet in the Champions League in a year or two.
Good luck for the future, I think most of us that don't have an affiliation with any particular club in the Premiership, want to see a strong Newcastle competing at the top of the table.

Feel free to pump Liverpool for us as well.

Apologies, Forza, didn't mean to offend your club at all. I thought you made cracking opponents and i'd much rather have your lot here than the likes of Celtic.

I'll edit it out for you.

Sorry Forza, yours are all valid points. Excuse us if we gat a bit carried away, we've been a bit short on things to get excited anout lately and beating Juventus is still a big deal to us especially with 9 first team players absent through injury.
Can't forgive Buffoon for his assault on Andy Carroll mind you. He should have been sent off!

I can understand that Ashley is being hesitiant in releasing the necessary transfers funds - I imagine that until the 'strategic review' is complete and until he knows the full extent of the mess he has inherited, he is being prudent however we need reinforcements asap a left back being prority - I saw Hunty was skinned three times in the first 20 mins on Sunday - not his fault.Lets hope Ashley can see the full picture soon and decide how much cash is available and not us having to sell a good player to the detriement of the squad(not including Dyer but numbers count - Spurs seems a no go now they have signed Boateng)ie N,Zogbia Martins.

Time is of the essence Mr Ashley - Move fast or suffer the consequences.

That report makes my club and the Italian media come across as extremely arrogant, I have absolutely no idea where you got this from. May I ask where you got the information that the Italian media expected a walk over or that Juve expected Newcastle to fold to their superior skill? I can assure you that despite the scoreline the game was viewed by Juve as a relative success, as it served it's main purpose - to get the team a step closer to match fitness. Of course no-one wants to see their team lose, but the score is far from vital in a match like this, even moreso on the continent than in Britain.
I didn't expect much from this match in terms of scoreline and I'm far from disappointed with the outcome.

Juve were clearly rusty as it was their first pre season game i believe, anyone a bit concerned as to whats goin on at SJP. Keegan/Shearer coming back blah blah, that wud b a huge mistake. give big sam 5years, let him do his job. back him with cash and im not talking 9m on a foreign prospect, let him bring in a couple of defenders. babashambles isnt good enough but i believe that carr is worth a go, huntington isnt a left back and never will be. dyers a twat but hes our twat at the minute and all this urest wont help his sale. if we were to get 5m for dyer spend that on baines and get in sol campbell or hyypia. that wud do me for the new season. alan smith wud b great at the toon, bit of fight on the pitch. i think edgar, triosi and carroll are gonna have a big season for us.

howay the lads

The whole point is that in the second half those players were up against each other, and our kids more than matched their "stars"
